Hello everyone,

my name is Guadalupe, and this is my daughters Chihuahua Lily. She is 3 yo, and she was rescued from the streets from us. This morning she got out and was hit by a car. Unfortunately the person who did this, did not stop to help her. I heard her cries loud from 5 houses down. I ran and grabbed her, We took her to the vet hospital and they took her in to evaluate her. She had X-rays done and we received devastating news, Lily our 4.5 pound baby, has a fractured pelvis, spine detached or something from the spine is detached and her little right leg is fractured. I can’t stop crying. I blame myself for letting her out to use the bathroom in the morning. This would have never happened. I can’t forgive myself. The docs put a splint on her, but it’s padded so it won’t be too heavy on her since she cannot bare anymore weigh on her tiny body. The vet told me, she needs surgery because her pelvis needs to be reattached and she will not heal on her own, she gave us an option to also put her down but I refuse to do that. This breaks my heart into pieces. My daughter is devastated, we all love her so much. We don’t want her to die. I asked them to give us medicine to keep her pain free and they only supplied us 7 days worth. They referred us to a surgical orthopedic doctor and they called me to quote me 7-10 thousand and told me it could be more, that’s just ballpark. I don’t have that money, and I can’t afford $500 payments a month. I don’t want to loose her. I know i shouldn’t be selfish but right now she’s okay, she just can’t move around. I have a week to seek help from the public. If you can share, or donate anything helps. Even a share, I just need angels right now.
