Zander Jarecki was involved in a single-car rollover accident on the evening of Sunday, October 19, 2025 in Beatrice, Nebraska. Zander sustained serious injuries as a result of the accident, including broken vertebrae in his back and neck, and road rash on his right side. While he was originally admitted to the ICU, Zander has already taken his first steps toward recovery. He was able to walk from the ICU to his recovery room at Bryan West Hospital in Lincoln, NE. Zander is hoping to be moved to a rehabilitation hospital soon.

Originally from Lindsay, NE, Zander graduated from Newman Grove High School in May, 2025. Zander has always had a love for farming, going out to his grandparent's farm every chance he got to help out. He was also very active in his local FFA chapter, participated in cross country, basketball and track. After a cross country race, Zander was found at the end of the finish tunnel congratulating those behind him or helping those who collapsed. Especially at FFA contests and events, Zander made friends with most everyone he met. Zander started college in Beatrice this fall studying Agronomy and Precision Agriculture where he quickly made a positive impression on his professors and peers.

Professor Lacey Jurgens wrote: "I've been so impressed by the way Zander's creativity and cheerful attitude bring a positive energy to our classroom. I've noticed that his insightful comments often spark deeper curiosity in his peers, which fosters a wonderful environment for us all to learn and grow."
