Help a Single Mom and Her Kids Start Fresh
Hi, my name is Alexis, and I’m a single mom doing my best to hold everything together for my children. Last year, I had to undergo emergency surgery that left me unable to work temporarily. Unfortunately, during that time, I fell behind on rent and we were evicted from our home. Since then, my kids and I have been staying with friends, but the living situation has become volatile and unsafe. We urgently need to move into a stable, safe environment.
I’ve found a place that I can afford long-term, and I’m ready to move forward, but I need help getting there.
One of my children has special needs and struggles with emotional regulation, including episodes of self-harm. He receives daily therapy and behavioral support, and having a consistent, calm environment is critical to his progress. Right now, that kind of environment isn’t possible. We need a space where his therapists can work with him consistently and safely, and where he can begin to feel secure again.
In February, I was involved in a car accident that was not my fault, and while I’m still waiting for my insurance to fully process and settle the claim so I can replace my vehicle, I’ve had to cover out-of-pocket transportation costs just to keep up with daily life, getting to work, taking my kids to school, and attending appointments. This has made it even harder to save what I need for moving expenses.
Here’s what I’m trying to raise:
• Rental deposit: $1,250
• Security risk deposit: $600
• Moving costs (truck, labor, etc.): $500
• Any other living expenses we may incur
Every dollar goes directly toward helping me secure this new home and get my belongings out of storage. As a one-woman show, I don’t have a support system to lean on, but I do have faith that with a little help, we can land on our feet.
If you’d like to help in another way or need more info, please feel free to email me.
Thank you so much for reading, sharing, and supporting. Your kindness means more than you know.
