Rachel has been in and out of hospitals since
October with cirrhosis of the liver and a low hemoglobin count that nobody can quite put their finger on. With COVID, and having to do zoom meetings with different doctors every day has brought nothing but mixed results and no real solution. The only thing that they know for sure is that she has cirrhosis of the liver and may be need a full liver transplant. But they really can’t pin point exactly what the problem is. Rachel and family has seen her health steadily decline over the last 6 months to the point where she can barely stomach a bite of food now. She has to have her stomach drained on a weekly basis to try and keep the swelling down. She can barely walk and she has very little energy.  It is unimaginable the fear and frustration their family is going through without knowing the real cause of the swelling of her abdomen, the low hemoglobin count, and unbearable pain she is constantly in. Rachel has kept this all on the down low but I want all the people who love her to know what’s going on with our amazing friend! I want to help in a time when it means so much.  The love of her life Chris has stopped his life completely to take care of Rachel and their angel Aria. Between taking care of Rachel full time, and being the amazing parent he is with Aria, the family is still holding it together, but barely. This go fund me is to show Rachel, Chris, and Aria how much we all really care and love them. As of now, Rachel has been admitted (FINALLY) to Loma Linda where she remains today. Her hemoglobin count has been as low as 4, but since she’s been admitted has climbed back up to 8. She has gone through her second blood transfusion trying to get her levels back to normal, but they suspect internal bleeding at this point. The doctors at Loma Linda are still fighting to find a solution, while Rachel is taking countless medications just trying to subdue the pain associated with it. Rachel is still in good spirits, but is begging to get home to be with her family. Anything that we are willing to donate to help their family with the day to day struggle of medical bills, food, raising a child during COVID, as well as Chris making sure the love of his life has everything she needs is greatly appreciated! I have put a couple pictures of the family below during good times, but I will not be posting pictures of Rachel’s current stage out of respect for the family. Let’s take a stand and help our friend!
