Life with lemons

My daughter, who is expecting her second and last child, was diagnosed with throat cancer. We are raising money to make lemonade out of a bad situation. We're hoping to raise at least $2500 to cover the medical bills that are out-of-pocket expenses. As a teacher she has an affinity with students and as a educator she has a great love of everyone who passes through her classroom. As her mother, I don't want the wonder of picking out baby names to be overshadowed by the need to learn new medical terminology. My daughter is a warrior of the first order but this disease becomes part of her reality along with the new baby. "In Dubious Battle," John Steinbeck wrote "swaddle the child in pieces of cloth from many that they all may enjoy taking part in the wonder of life." Happy holidays.
