Today I learned that one of my best friends I grew up with was going through something hard so I felt led to do this. ❤️ Laura’s husband, Doug, was diagnosed with stage 4 squamous cell carcinoma of the tongue that has metastasized to two lymph nodes. Taking on a cancer diagnosis & juggling life is hard. There is nothing easy about it! I know there are many people who love them & want to help in some way & I think this will be a wonderful way as things have happened so fast for their family.

Doug is scheduled to have surgery to remove the tumor and both of the lymph nodes that are affected this month. After surgery, they are looking at 6+ weeks of radiation & depending on the pathology he will also endure chemotherapy.

They have 6 kids living at home still so juggling kids schedules and life in general will get stressful as they go through surgery & treatment.

My goal is for the funds from this is to help with gas, food, and the multiple appointments they will have as they start their journey of treatment very soon!

Laura might get me for even posting this and they would never ask for help so I am doing this without their permission! If I gave her the option she wouldn’t probably even let me do this, but if I’ve learned one thing this is something that can help! I know so many people have asked what they can do & I truly believe this is one way we can help their family go through this! Help relieve their family of some of this burden as Doug will be off work from his job as well. Please give if you feel led to do so! And I know they covet every prayer said on their behalf ❤️
