We aren’t ones to reach out... we’ve always tried to buck it up and figure things out on our own. In 2019... Jacob came home from basic training which we believed was a knee injury. That turned into multiple joints in his body swelling and a diagnosis of Pseudogout (not typical for a 17 year old!!) Jacob left for AIT training, where his health continued to decline. Upon returning home and after many doctor visits and continual issues he was referred to Sanford. At that time.. we didn’t know we would be given the news that something else was wrong. He’s since been set up with a liver doctor, multiple labs, urine samples, X-rays, CT, liver biopsies, and recently a stay at the hospital as he was so weak. He’s lost nearly 55 lbs and has many more doctors getting involved in his care. Months later.. we still don’t have answers and continue to do multiple trips weekly between Sanford and local doctor visits. Insurance has been covering most but it isn’t able to cover hotel stays, food, fuel, and medication fees that we pay out of pocket, or the multiple days of missed work.At this time... I do not qualify for FMLA!
this isn’t easy but I’ve decided to reach out to help raise funds to help cover.
If you can’t donate (I get it!! Covid has crushedso many this past year) I ask if you could pray! Pray the doctors find answers and we can get him on the road to recovery.
