No one fights alone!

Hi, my name is Michelle. With her permission to disclose her journey, I am writing on behalf of my dear friend Tasha Fain. She is a talented artist and compassionate grade school teacher that has always maintained a healthy lifestyle. In the midst of the global pandemic, on December 23, 2020, she was blindsided with the diagnosis of stage 4 colon cancer. While the world was in quarantine, Tasha was beginning her battle undergoing multiple surgeries, 8 rounds of chemo therapy and blood transfusions. Despite having to be out of work since January 2021, she has maintained a positive attitude and strong faith. With the support of a great medical team, family and friends, Tasha is doing exceptionally well but still has 4 additional rounds of chemotherapy to complete over the next 2 months. As a survivor myself, I know first hand how difficult it is to navigate this journey. The healing process is ongoing well beyond the completion of active treatment. The cost of medical expenses, household expenses and travel are overwhelming. She currently has to decide whether she should return to work as an elementary school art teacher and risk exposure to COVID-19 in an immunocompromised state. No one should have to fight cancer while simultaneously worrying about whether bills are going to get paid. She would never ask, so I am asking if you can please help me keep her safe at home while she completes her treatment with the appropriate rest and focus on healing.
