Helping Nick in his recovery
We started this to help my youngest brother, Nick. I'll explain why in a moment, but first, I'd like to tell you a bit about Nick before I get into what happened.
Nick is one of the most genuine people there is. He's got a big heart and would literally give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He's a hard worker, has a determination that is nearly unmatched, he is as loyal as they come, a great listener and great friend.
Nick is also self employed. He's been working in the commercial flooring industry for the better part of his life.
On July 4th 2021, Nick's life was changed forever.
Early on that fateful Sunday Morning, Nick became the victim of a violent crime. An innocent bystander, the assailant shot Nick in the back, approximately between the T12 and L3 vertebrae, at near point blank range.
The shot severed his Spinal Cord.
He was Instantly Paralyzed.
Nick's future looks very different now. This GoFundMe is to help him transition into his "new normal". He is determined to maintain his independence and he's taking this challenge head on. He has been a shining example of pragmatism and positivity throughout all of this.
Our funding goal is to assist him with the necessary renovations to accommodate his wheelchair (ramps, roll-in shower etc) as well as converting his van for hand controls and accessibility. As of now we are still uncertian of what unexpected costs may arise related to his recovery.
