The Awakening is inspired by Surah Al-Kahf, where young believers sought refuge in a cave during a time of trial. Their cave symbolised struggle, isolation, and surrender to Allah, yet it also became the place from which they were awakened into hope and freedom.

Addiction can feel like that same cave: dark, isolating, and testing faith. But recovery is the awakening, leaving behind pain and confusion to return to life with clarity, strength, and purpose under Allah’s guidance.

My name is Ahjaz, and I founded "The Awakening CIC" because I have seen firsthand the pain that addiction and mental health struggles cause, not just for individuals, but for families and entire communities. Too often, people are left without the help they need due to financial barriers, and their suffering often continues in silence.

Why This Matters

For me, this mission is deeply personal. I care about giving people a real chance to rebuild their lives with dignity, compassion, and hope. I’ve witnessed how transformative proper treatment can be, but I’ve also seen too many people turned away simply because they couldn’t afford it. That is something I cannot accept. Everyone deserves access to recovery.
