Michael Bratton Rock Scholarship

The School of Rock Virginia Beach is establishing a memorial scholarship in honor of Michael Bratton. Michael was a former School of Rock student who passed away suddenly in January, 2018 at the age of 20.
Not every family can afford after-school music programs. Since opening, the School of Rock Virginia Beach has offered scholarships to worthy students who might not otherwise be able to afford to join the school.
Michael was the School of Rock Virginia Beach's first scholarship recipient, and a model student. He was a fantastic guitar player, but his biggest gift to the school and the young musicians around him was his love of music. He loved to practice and he was always happy and energetic at rehearsal. And when it was showtime, he lit up the stage.
If you would like to give the gift of music to other deserving kids, please consider donating. All scholarship students enjoy a well-rounded musical experience, including:
1. Weekly private music lessons
2. Weekly group rehearsals
3. Live performances in real music venues
