New York City, winter is coming. As a gesture of outreach to the many families struggling to make ends meet in this city, we are helping the heroic teaching staff at The Island School PS 188 in Lower East Side to bring some holiday spirit to their students and their families. With over 47% of its students homeless due to a record high number of working poor families in this city, it is important, more than ever, that we show our neighbors that we care about them.
Help us raise fund to bring 50 christmas trees and 455 goodie bags to to the students and families of PS 188! For many of these families who are crashing with relatives or crammed in an apartment with other families, even the smallest sense of normalcy (like a christmas tree) can be meaningful. It may not be life changing but it will be heart warming.
It takes a village to raise a kid and we hope you can support our drive this holiday! Thank you!
