We Run for PS 261!

Tax deductible
PS 261 parents James Cooper (Bib 749) and Dan Fiedler (Bib 3536) are running in this year’s New York City Marathon. As part of their participation, they are raising funds for the school’s PTA.

PS 261 is an economically diverse school and the PTA spends an average of $500 per child to fill the sizable gap between what the public school education system in New York City provides the school to merely function and what it needs to help each student reach his or her full potential.

With your donation, we can help hire teacher assistants, purchase classroom technology, support a librarian, and enrich the learning environment through residencies, activities and events that promote creative arts, math, science, and physical activity!

James and Dan are also helping to inspire students, especially those who participate in the PS 261 Track Club, which meets every Wednesday at 7:40 am in the school gym and at the end of the day through After School programming.

Led by Mr. Matt Carbone, PS 261's Physical Education instructor, the goal of the Track Club is to make physical activity an integral part of kids' lives so they grow up with healthy habits and are equipped for success in running or any other sport they choose.

Please make a donation, encourage your kid to participate in physical activities, and come out and cheer James and Dan as they tackle 26.2 miles for PS 261 on November 4th!
