This is for Nay.

Nay short for Nadine; the best kind of friend I know. She is kind and hard working, positive and sane. She is a mother to one, a son strong and 21 years young. She is not a typical person others would think would have need, but behind many a smiling face or soft hello sometimes hides pain. Pain, yes I know, I’m now mentioning it a second time, is so deep and unspoken with this woman of distinction and yet it is so rarely displayed that hardly anyone would know. Nay is a responsible adult always aiming without help to pay her bills. Usually she is able to make deadlines even though she tends to be sick. So please fully and correctly understand,

Nay is an atypical charity case.

So that’s the layup and here's what would make the half court three point winning shot… $1600. (Which has been rounded to the nearest $100.)

 Ok, now the why.

Nay has been in the hospital since February 27th. She's diagnosed with lots of things like pancreatitis and just had a life saving surgery to end her sepsis, but that's not the issue. The issue is her home and light bills. $657 for the rent and $181 for the light bill, plus $532 for the car note and insurance, $150 for the cell phone and misc. I know I said $1500, but that’s because her adult son has paid $250 already and frankly Nay isn't greedy. And being that she has often been sick her “sick time” pay has already been spent in prior visits of similar diagnosis. And this time the property management won't bend.  Anyway, Nadine needs to pay $657 + $100 late charges before  mgt. will post an eviction notice. I guess my math was off… the total is inevitably $1600. (My bad, truthfulness is a habit that is hard to break.)

 So, yeah that's the winning shot; she and you, as the wind beneath her wings, are trying to make. And I, Octavius, a friend of and in accompaniment with Nadine…
