Rally for Roger

I have been putting this off for a while, partially in hopes that circumstances would improve and more help wouldn't be needed. I can no longer delay in asking for help. Since this is "giving Tuesday" and the need is now greater, here I am.

I have to be mindful in what I say as it is not my story to tell and there are current court cases. In April of this year, my dearest Uncle Roger was unjustly removed from his home. As of today, he has not been able to return and his next court date isn't until March of next year. The justice system, being what it is, is taking a very long time to get there. That being said, Roger is on the upside in all 3 of his current legal proceedings. Unlike his accusers, his story has remained the same nor has he perjured himself under oath. Roger has stayed with family and friends but also in shelters and streets. In case you aren't aware, you need to be checked into shelters at a certain time. Without personal transportation and trying to keep working as much as possible, that isn't always an option. Now that it is colder outside, the need for shelter is much higher also. I won't go in to much detail, that would take a lot of time. Details don't really matter though, Roger is a human being and needs help. Your lack of a relationship with him doesn't matter nor do the things he's being falsely accused of. That reminds me, if you haven't spoken to Roger - especially since April, you do not know the correct information or all of the information. What I will tell you is that he is a much stronger person then I had previously thought. He has been through the worst things of his life, without any indications of improvement anytime soon, but is still trying to stay positive. This has definitely taken a major toll on him mentally and physically, but he is committed to improving his situation. He is also committed to his clients and continues to work as much as possible, even though being removed from his home has caused him to give up part of his business. Although so much evil is being done to him by so many people, he is still compassionate and empathetic, especially to others going through a hard time or even feeling down. He would and has given his last dollar to someone in need.

I believe Roger's greatest need right now, in addition to moral support, is help with legal fees. I'm sure I don't have to say how ridiculous those can be. I also want to be sure his phone stays in service and his medications stay filled. There is of course a need for Chicago winter weather gear along with food and bus passes. Let's rally around Roger and try to take some of the heavy burden off of his shoulders during this awfully hard time. Thank you for taking the time to read this and if you're able, please consider making a donation. If you aren't able, that's completely understandable. If you're the praying type or the good vibe sending type, those are appreciated as well. If you have ever helped Roger in any way, especially in the past 7 months, thank you so much. Your kindness is very much appreciated!
