Who is Denise and how do they know Malik Dalloul?** I'm Denise Alejandra who was one of Malik Dalloul’s, caregivers back in year 2016. My dearest friend Mona sponsored Malik for a surgical procedure through Palestinian Children Relief Fund (PCRF). I was given the opportunity to be a part of his journey and recovery and was a live-in carer while he lived in El Paso, Texas for his surgery.

I am reaching out on behalf of Malik's family, who ask me to be their voice as they facing unimaginable difficulties in the ongoing attacks in Gaza City Palestine . Here is their story:

Hello, everyone. I am Malik, 17 years old, living in Gaza City, currently witnessing horrifying events and a devastating war that is

I was born with health and congenital issues, as shown in the picture. Due to limited access to medicine and science in my city to improvement my appearance; I faced difficulties and problems due to bullying . Fortunately, with the grace of Allah and the efforts of my family, I had the opportunity to travel alone with a relief organization PCRF to the United States. I was hosted by an Arab-American family who provided immense support, and I will never forget their kindness.

After several months of treatment and surgeries to enhance my appearance, I returned to my family in Gaza. I started adapting to my environment, and people's perception the new improved me. I continued my education, despite the region enduring periodic harsh wars. However, in the seventh of October 2023, a powerful and unprecedented war erupted, forcing us to leave our home abruptly due to nearby bombings.

We sought refuge at a UNRWA school, housing many displaced people like us. Unfortunately, the war intensified, and we were informed that our home was bombed, leaving no possibility of return.

Conditions worsened as another house near the school was bombed, and my mother got injured while trying to escape. We went to a friends home in Khan Younis in an area called Al-Qarara, and they try to provide us with some clothes, food, blankets, etc.

We stayed there for about a month in difficult conditions, lacking water, electricity, and having only minimal amounts of food until the second of December 2023. Fireworks started around us, and intense bombing began. Glass shattered everywhere, and we quickly left for the third time, not knowing where to go, just wanting to save our lives.

We found ourselves in a hospital in Deir al-Balah, where hospitals also serve as shelters. We sat on the hospital's sidewalks in harsh weather conditions and were provided with some nylon and wood to create a tent and stay in it. However, the tent did not protect us from the cold, wind, or rain (to the extent that we would drown when it rained). We suffered from diseases due to the cold, including influenza and gastrointestinal issues.

We stayed a whole month in the hospital until events worsened, and bombing approached us again. We left for the fourth time and headed to Rafah, where we built a tent on the pavement using nylon and wood without any life essentials.

Homes, schools, hospitals, and everything on the ground were destroyed. There is no hope of returning home or continuing my education. I am writing my story from a tent in Rafah, and the war is still ongoing. We do not know what will happen next.

This is the first time I am asking for help. I hope you can contribute to providing a portion of the amount to help my family of six leave Gaza, and start a new safe, and comfortable life, and allow me to continue my education to build the future I've been aspiring for a long time.
