With this I want to share with you a project that I am starting, with great enthusiasm and that I believe can be a good way to improve rural tourism that is attracting more people every day. My idea is that the benefit for each patron is the possibility of being the first to choose a date on which they can enjoy the facilities and, if they cannot or simply because they want to make a small profit, they have the option of offering the stay on the reserved days since the price for this will be lower than that found by guests who book through tourist accommodation platforms. With this I want to reward the investment they make in the project and thank them for their trust.
The project began in 2021, with the acquisition of land on which a barn from 1890 had been built in Aguilar del Alfambra, Teruel. "The idea began to give an opportunity to rural tourism in which the way of life of that time could be reproduced, with some modern comforts." Getting away to a quiet place, escaping the crowds and rush that make up our lives today, can be a good way to invest our time in relaxation and leisure. The installation is the genuine recovery of a hayloft with its threshing floor and its barn, “equipped with the latest eco-efficiency and energy sustainability technologies.”
To reflect the evolution that this construction has undergone, I would like to show you the work that has been behind it, thanks to the perseverance and work of professionals who have helped me get everything started. “There is still a long way to go, but the idea of providing a quality service for the enjoyment of people who want to know this lifestyle or simply like it,” is what helps me continue with this idea, which I hope can be valued by you.
First Phase of the “Rural Haystack” project.
The purchase was made in October 2021 and this is how it was.
You can see the passing of the years and that it continues to preserve the initial structure as it was built. It was weakened and did not meet any of the comforts that could make it habitable, much less a place to disconnect.
The interior was full of rubble that had accumulated over the years and there were no partitions that delimited the rooms. There was also no proper bathroom or kitchen where you could prepare food, something that is essential to be able to spend time in this construction. There had also been some landslides caused by rainfall.
The surroundings of the hayloft are to be able to enjoy that tranquility and immerse the tenant in a true simulation of the time.
The idea for the future that I have is to build an Aragonese kitchen so that the tenants can use it and enjoy a culinary and gastronomic experience like in the past, when they sat in “las Cadieras” by “the light” of the “low fire” where they cooked the next day's meal while “chatting.”
Furthermore, in “El Hacinador” that we are going to build upstairs to house the aerothermal machinery and heat collection pan of the Moorish oven where we can make bread and bake any recipe, there will be “an Allar” as well. All energy capture is transferred to a heat exchanger from which it passes to domestic hot water and the air conditioning system. To carry out all this, we have established an energy community in the town of Aguilar del Alfambra with which we partner for community photovoltaic collection together with the City Council, which gives the southern slope to house the panels of the members of the community and thus pour the energy into the network, for their own consumption or transfer to other users who need it, even for sale.
I hope you like this project as much as it excites me, to be able to provide that glimmer of tranquility and liberation that urban society currently needs so much. It is an opportunity to invest in a building that will be restored and improved to accommodate people who want to enjoy nature.
