Provision for the Boyd family
Donation protected

Ben and Sheri Boyd of Enterprise, Oregon, welcomed baby #7 on October 28, 2021. Heather Mercy Boyd was born at Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital in Spokane, WA. Heather Mercy’s bilirubin levels quickly rose to a dangerous level within a few hours after her birth. During an exchange transfusion, Heather Mercy had some type of severe reaction, and “coded.” Heather Mercy was quickly given CPR and intubated, and stabilized.
As part of the CPR event, Heather Mercy’s kidneys stopped working (renal failure) and she was transported to Seattle Children’s NICU, which is one of the first hospitals in the country to have “CARPE DIEM” infant dialysis machines.
Heather was on continuous dialysis for her first eight days, and will likely continue with 12-hour cycles of dialysis for some time. She is currently still on a ventilator and needs multiple interventions, including transfusions of blood products because of blood coagulation problems. Her condition is critical, but stable, with improvement happening VERY SLOWLY.
Ben and Sheri have been spending most of their time in Seattle with Heather, and now are looking to relocate their other children to join them there—even if only on a short-term basis —as Heather’s NICU stay will likely continue for the next six weeks, and potentially longer.
Ben’s sister (Heather’s aunt) Abbey Boyd will be traveling between Phoenix, AZ and Seattle to help as Heather Mercy’s relief caregiver when Ben and Sheri head back to Oregon to spend time with their other children. Your prayers for the Boyd family are greatly appreciated.

The Need:
The Boyds are members of Samaritan Ministries’ health care need sharing ministry, and anticipate that their fellow members of Samaritan Ministries will help provide for their substantial medical needs through prayer, encouragement, and financial support. However, the Boyds will need additional financial support to help cover their housing, food, and travel costs (for themselves and caregiver/aunt Abbey Boyd) -- with no immediate end in sight.
Please consider making a financial donation to this family to help ease their burden, and please consider leaving words of encouragement. (Press "continue" after you donate, in order to leave your comment and make it public.) At the very least, we ask you to remember them in your prayers. This beautiful family is looking to the God of Heaven to sustain and provide, and their deep faith and unwavering trust in God’s divine plan is an inspiration to all of us.
