My life has been touched by this wonderful woman. We met on set filming an exciting new comedy for Television. There's a certain magical energy in the air when you're filming a pilot episode. We all knew that we had our hands on something great that could change our lives forever. But one person seemed to feel that life changing opportunity more than the rest of us. No mater how much energy was in a room, this light always fell on this bright human soul that always seemed to shine a bit brighter than anyone else. Her energy was so high and literally contagious. Some people are born with a gift to make everyone smile. This incredible force of positivity was born to change the world. Rebekah has a smile that sets the stage to bring out everyone's own best self. Kind, attentive, generous, SMILING, respectful, courteous, beautiful, giggly, funny, witty, smart, sassy, SMILING, silly, bright, intelligent, thoughtful, and yes of course SMILING.
I kept thinking who is this wonderful bright ball of energy. Is she the star of the show I haven't met yet? Well the answer is Yes! She is the star of the show. Just not the star of the show in front of the camera! She is the humble beauty that hovers around the room and spreads her joy from the moment she appears until the moment you see her again. Her "thing" she leaves with everyone she comes in contact with is universal. I watched her daily just simply improve every person's mood by just talking with them. Any room. Any person. Was left better just talking with the bright light she exudes. It's truly amazing and one of a kind.
I thought wow! She must have life figured out! Wow, how lucky she is to be so stress free and just simply happy! Wow! Rebekah leaves everyone with a wow!
We finally got the chance to sit down as a group, a team, a new family for the short few days we were filming and get to know each other a little better.
We circled the conversation around and it finally landed on sweet Rebekah. I though wow- I can't wait to hear what her secret is. What her amazing life is like to produce such radiant positive energy.
With a huge bright smile on her face she explained how she was a mother of a wonderful little boy, has loving and caring parents, has always lived a healthy life, and a positive and grateful outlook on life because she conquered and survived a brain tumor 7 years ago. She was married at the time, and had a four month old nursing baby when her daily cognitive complications let her know something was not well. She immediately went to the ER where they discovered a 7cm tumor and within minutes she had a stroke in the doctor's office. Her unexpected visit saved her life. She battled from that point forward. It was no easy battle. She conquered the horrific fight for her life and won. She is so full of life because she survived.
I was literally in shock. What?? How is it possible. This can't be true. As I listened to her story of how she discovered the cancer, all she had been through, and what she was literally going through at that exact moment to simply survive I was in complete awe. How can anyone go through what she had been through and still look like the most grateful happy person I had ever met. Rebekah literally shines with light. She survived but the cancer is not leaving. During her most recent exam a 2cm tumor returned in the original area. The doctors also found something at the top of her spine. It's back with tremendous force this time attempting to take her brain stem. There is a stage three 4cm tumor pressing on the spinal fluid causing major balance and function issues with nonstop nausea and disorientation. If the size increases she will have to undergo a shunt procedure to reduce pressure at the base of her skull; on her vertebrae. This is a done often to help fend off other problems. She soon will begin more chemo to treat both cancer areas at the same time while doing as many holistic, healthy and healing lifestyle choices to stay ahead of the growth and kill the cancer at the stem cell.
Cancer is darkness. Cancer is death for so many. Rebekah has chosen to fight her brain cancer with believing life is greater than death - Life is loving everyone around you more than you love yourself or hate your circumstances. She has chosen to live by loving others. She has chosen to live by making an impact by sharing laughter and focusing her attention on other's needs more than her own. Rebekah is living! She is changing so many lives with her positive attitude and disposition. She listens.. She smiles.. She loves through all of it!
She is a mother. She is a single mother helping to raise a young boy to know the value of love. Rebekah and her strength has affected me in such a positive way, I just wanted to do all I can to share her story and need with a world that's in need of love and positivity. I want to share her story and help her in any way I can.
I'm a father. I couldn't imagine going through this with the thought of my family not having me to help, to protect, to provide. I have to help. I will help. As long as it takes. I want to help lighten the financial burden of life while praying Rebekah can and will continue living her life miraculously healed.
Medical bills are real. Pain from treatment is real. Working in pain because you have to still take care of your family is beyond painful and challenging. I felt it on my heart to commit to her financially. To help her in her painful times. To help her stay at home and love and raise her little boy. To smile and be with him as many days as God will allow. I have committed to helping her monthly until she is fully recovered. Relieving one of the many pains would be a tremendous honor. I will do all I can.
Pray. Participate. Provide. If you feel you can help in any way your heart tells you to, please give love in the form of donations that will help lift Rebekah's burden while she can't physically work throughout her new treatment.
The cancer has now spread to her brain stem. Daily functions aren't functioning anymore. There are dietary and supplemental treatments that can help with the journey she is on during this round of such delicate brain stem treatment.
Please help me help Rebekah. Let's together show love to one bright light that shows love to so many others.
My wife and I will put in the first amount and will continue to give all we can until she is fully recovered and back on her feet shining everywhere she goes. Unfortunately this amount is not enough to cover the cost of what cancer is trying to take from Rebekah. Her new treatment is in immediate need. Her bills for treatment and medications is in immediate need. Her living expenses can't be overcome by this life taking brain stem cancer. We have set her goal high so that she does not have to worry about anything financial until she completes her miraculous journey to full recovery. This round of treatment will work. She will be set free of cancer. I believe! Rebekah believes!
I believe we are all blessed to be a blessing. Please share your love and help us bless this lovely person- Our dear friend Rebekah- We Love You. & Thank you for shining your light in our lives. Please share her story, share her light, share her need.
