What could you do with $25? Think not a lot? It's time to think again. In Cameroon, that amount will provide more than a year's supply of reusable sanitary and hygiene products for one girl.
Lourdes Ex Students Montreal is a group of dynamic women professionals from Cameroon, (living in Montreal, Canada); with a vision to assist and transform the lives of displaced women and young girls living in poverty, back in Cameroon.
The goal to help women and girls simply arose from the fact that we all attended an all girls school(Lourdes) with a vision " to serve with love". We may be far away from our homeland, but we we want to give back; to reach out and help other disadvantaged young women/girls ; most living below the poverty line.
For the past 4 years, the anglophone region of Cameroon has been plagued by political instability which has adversely affected the lives of all, especially women and young girls; putting them further at risk and sinking many into a vicious cycle of poverty.
Working in partnership with a local NGO based in Buea, Cameroon, we are giving back by taking part in the Restore Her Dignity campaign. The goal is simple - equipping disadvantaged young girls, women and single mothers, with the necessary products they need to manage their menstrual & sexual reproductive health.
Papilio is a reusable sanitary pad made by "women for women" in Cameroon. The production of Papilio currently provides employment to a group of over 10 single mothers; who otherwise would not be able to take care of their children.
By donating to our campaign, you are helping a single mother have income from the production of this sanitary product, thereby lifting her out of poverty. You are also providing hundreds of girls not only with menstrual care products they need, but also access to menstrual & sexual health education.
Please join us make a difference in the life of a young girl today!!
