This is Providence Grace Rector, or as my daughter Selah calls her: "Baboo".   She is a 15 month old who was diagnosed with developmental delay and hypotonia at 7 months. Between 12-15 months she was diagnosed with epilepsy, mild hearing loss, and near nearsightedness.

Providence brings joy to everyone around her and is loved dearly by her family. Her favorite things are music, clapping, shiny objects and going on trips with mom and dad.

On November 12 she was brought into the emergency room because she was experiencing cluster seizures and was admitted into the Providence Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital, 3 hours away from home.

That day she had over 70 seizures lasting up to 30 seconds. Doctors prescribed Ativan to stop the seizures but it did not work.

Providence and her parents are currently staying at the hospital while more testing is being done to determine the cause of the seizures. Providence has had an MRI, Lumbar Puncture, EEG, and has been seeing Neurologists, family doctors, pediatricians, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Speech Therapists, to name a few. Her parents are hoping she will be released by the end of the week.

Her parents, Jason and Miranda, are a fantastic couple.  Jason works in State Corrections and Miranda worked in radio and the newspaper but several months ago she had to quit her job to be with Providence full time.

This hospital visit isn't the first, nor do we believe it to be the last. Thus far it is a very expensive and a detrimental visit for this one income family in order to get a diagnosis for their daughter.

Baby Providence has been a smiling happy baby through this entire ordeal. She’s learning to army crawl and loves playing with everyone.

This visit alone is going to be at least somewhere between $4000-6000 out of pocket.  Please join us in helping this fantastic couple whom, through no fault of their own, are going to be going through some very hard times financially on top of what they are already going through physically and emotionally.

Although Miranda and Jason have not asked for anything, as her older sister (and brother in law), we wanted to give an opportunity for the many people who have reached out asking how they can help.  This is one very important avenue in helping them achieve answers for baby Providence and for them to be present for whatever other procedures they may be coming up against.  We are not only very thankful for including Providence in your prayers, but for any monetary assistance you can bless them with at this time.
