I’ve worked with and known Audrey Douglas for close to 10 years. She and her family are truly nice, hard working folks with a strong foundation in their Christian faith. Romney, her husband, is one of the remaining family farmers that our country was once defined by. They work 7 days a week year round to raise the food most of us now carry from grocery stores to home without much thought to the struggle it takes to produce it for us. Recently, he was diagnosed with cancer in his liver & blood which of course placed a huge burden on him and his family. He is undergoing the standard treatments including chemotherapy and has responded well to date. The financial burdens of his medical care and lost productivity at his farm are the blows that can sink smaller farm operations. I hate to see this happen to them. I hope to provide assistance through this GoFund account and alleviate some of the financial loss so that we can prevent the loss of another one of these pillars of rural America that cannot be recovered once their gone. This family and family farmers in general deserve better than what has happened to them in our country. Here’s a chance for us to give back & support one of own. Thank you for any help you can give.
