Thistle Whistle Farm is a diversified small family farm in Western Colorado. In addition to growing vegetables, herbs, dairy goats, bees, chickens, and ducks, we host and promote a wide variety of educational programs and experiences for people of all ages, from kids to seniors. Our produce is as tasty and healthy as we can manage, and our selection of varieties is as rich in their stories as in their flavors. We grow to organic standards, work to build long-term soil health, and strive to treat our staff, animals and land with the care and respect they all deserve.
Thistle Whistle Farm's educational mission provides transformative educational experiences to people interested in local food systems, diversified small farms, and building community. We immerse our staff in the work of a small farm, broadening their experiences by inviting school field trips, college programs, multiple-day intensive experiences for school groups, and workshops and programs for members of our community.
We feed our community's minds and their bellies, providing food to locals through on-farm sales with a CSA, at our local farmers market, and providing food to local meal programs. We are committed to being as embedded in our local community as possible.
Your donation will help us continue offering meaningful experiences, along with flavorful, nutritious food. Giving a young person a season-long farm experience costs about $20,000. Hosting a field trip from a local school costs us about $200 in time and materials. We accept field trips and visits regardless of ability to pay, and your help will go toward making meaningful, authentic experiences possible, short-term and long-term.
