Assalamualaikum everyone, I want to tell a short story. Just after I had the terrible news of my husband being diagnosed with leukaemia, I was in the prayer room of the hospital and next to me praying there was a sister who saw me crying and asked me what happened and immediately she gave me a lot of comfort through her words because she knew exactly what I was going through as she lost her beloved sister Saiqa who also battled cancer not too long ago. She told me she was a nurse working in the hospital and she quickly got me a few sandwiches and made me tea to make me feel better. This kind gesture gave my heart so much peace, it was like Allah sent me an angel exactly when I needed some comfort. That was sister Zarka ❤️ She then told me about her charity which her and her family have established to honour her sister Saiqa as a form of ongoing sadaqa jariya for her. May Allah grant her Jannatul Firdaus.
The charity is called SAIQA MEHRBAN WELFARE TRUST. It is a free shelter and free food hub for the needy and also a clinic for cataracts patients, it has a maternity unit and a general medical unit which provides all free treatments for the poor people who can’t afford to get medical treatments. All these aspects of care are available to all the desperately in need and living well below the poverty line in Johrabad, Pakistan which is an agricultural and rurally deprived area. Alhamdulillah many people have had their eyesight restored post cataract treatment. The clinic has already been running for 2 years and had many successful cataract operations, delivery of babies and general medical assistance and treatments, all for free.
Since I heard about her amazing work, it truly made me realise how blessed we are by Allah to be living in this country where we get all the free medical treatments through the NHS.
The less fortunate people all around the world see their loved ones pass away before their own eyes and they can’t do anything about it simply because they have no money to afford the treatments. This must be the most heartbreaking thing a family can ever go through.
I would like to raise money for this amazing charity as we are soon approaching the last 10
days Ramadan. I kindly request everyone to support sister Zarka’s charity to help provide free medical care to all the vulnerable poor people living in Johrabad who could never even dream of getting free medical treatment. Currently they are planning on buying an x-ray machine for the clinic for better diagnosis and treatment.
May Allah reward you greatly for your donations and may it be a means for you to enter Jannatul Firdaus. Ameen.
