Helping provide for rescue cats in need

This fundraiser is to help raise money for the Richmond Hill branch of Saint Rescue & Adoption to help provide care for the cats at the rescue. They are a 100% volunteer and foster based nonprofit cat rescue that I have been volunteering at since November 2024. The rescue is a team of individuals dedicated to rescuing and rehoming cats in need.

I have donated my time as well as items to the adoption center to help care for all the sweet cats that need help, but I want to see if I can do more for them.

Back in September 2024, I lost two of my sweet fur babies one after the other. It was an incredibly hard loss for me, even after all these months I still hurt and cry about it sometimes. They had been constant companions and beloved members of my family for nearly 17 years, so their deaths were devastating.

A couple of months later, I came across a “volunteers needed” sign at my local Petsmart. I started as a volunteer at Saint Rescue & Adoption Richmond Hill in hopes that giving rescue cats some love and care would help me heal. Volunteering for this cat rescue has helped me cope with my loss, and has brought me lots of joy. I have fallen in love with each and every cat I have come across at the adoption centre, each one with their own unique personalities, and each one as loveable as the next. I even ended up adopting two kitties myself (Levi & Mochi).

I have seen first hand just how much love and care can impact the lives of these animals. My sweet baby girl Mochi was feral when she first arrived. It took weeks before I could get my hand near her, and a couple months before I could even pet her. Now, she willingly runs up to me every morning and every night before bed to ask for head & chin scratches, and pets.
