Provide Dental Care for Bean
Donation protected

In July of 2022, Bean was a friendly feral cat residing in the backyards of Bushwick. She had been cared for by friends on Melrose St. for over 10 years.
Unfortunately, Bean was attacked by a raccoon and needed emergency surgery to amputate one of her hind legs. The community came together to rescue Bean from this horrible tragedy and provided the medical care she needed. She then needed time to recuperate from surgery indoors and wait out a three-month quarantine due to potential rabies exposure. This is where I come in!
My name is Erin and I’ve been caring for Bean over the past year. With a lot of quiet time and patience, Bean has blossomed into the sweetest indoor kitty! I’ve witnessed her grow more confident indoors and have promised her that she can stay with me as long as she seems comfortable here.
I recently took Bean to the vet for chronic sniffles. The doc prescribed an antibiotic for temporary relief, recommended getting blood work drawn so that she could accurately prescribe steroids, and also noted that Bean has a few teeth that need to be pulled to avoid infection. (Not surprising for a senior cat who lived most of her life on the street.)
Dental work for pets is expensive; the vet estimated that it will cost around $2,000. I am seeking support from the community for this expense because I’ve had my own health issues this year as well. I was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in February and am only working part-time while in treatment.
Donations of any size are appreciated to help with Bean’s dental bill. This will also provide the labs needed for Bean to get better treatment for her chronic nasal congestion.
Thank you for your love and support!
