Scholarships: Earl Mosley's Institute of the Arts

Tax deductible

Earl Mosley’s Institute of the Arts (EMIA)
is a summer dance intensive celebrating its second year at Hofstra University in Long Island, NY. Founded by renowned choreographer and dance educator, Fredrick Earl Mosley EMIA enters its 14th summer bringing together students ages 14 to 24 for 4 weeks of training, collaboration, creativity and community. EMIA invites a diverse array of professional dance educators and choreographers of the highest caliber to share their expertise with our students, giving them the tools needed to excel in dance and in life.

Founder Earl Mosley strongly believes in passion, spirit, and appreciating the differences that make each artist truly unique and respected. He welcomes Diversity not only in art, but in the life experiences that each dancer brings to the process of creating dance that entertains, educates and heals the human spirit.

A central part of our mission is supporting dancers of all socioeconomic backgrounds. EMIA assists 80% of dancers with scholarship funds, providing tuition assistance to an average of 90+ students each summer. For 13 years, thanks to the generous support of our donors we have furthered our mission. We are grateful for your continued support to help make EMIA 2019 our most powerful summer yet!

More about EMIA (Earl Mosley’s Institute of the Arts):

Dancers take daily technique classes in modern dance, ballet, contemporary, jazz, African, yoga, hip-hop and more, taught by an outstanding team of nationally and internationally known dance teachers and choreographers. Each student has an opportunity to learn and rehearse repertory works which are presented during fully produced performances that are open to the community. Additionally, EMIA gives students the opportunity to develop as choreographers, as they create and perform their own dance pieces during a public student choreography performance. Over the past several years EMIA has expanded initiatives to help these young artists through their careers, offering workshops on entrepreneurship, injury prevention, dance history, career counseling, technical production, costume design and more!
