Presley's Covid Relief Fund for Lilliane in Rwanda
This is my "little sister" Lilliane. She lives in Rwanda, and my family has been
sponsoring her since 2016.
I know that Covid-19 has been hard on all of us, but I can't imagine how hard it
has been for Lilliane. She had a challenging life before the pandemic, as she spent much of her day harvesting beans in the fields with her family. But once Covid hit, her school closed and resources became even more scarce. Only essential businesses
can be open, and the entire country is under a curfew from 6pm daily. We receive monthly updates about Lilliane, and we are just so thankful that she
and her family have stayed healthy so far.
For my bat mitzvah project, I knew right away that I wanted to raise money to
send to Lilliane and her community in Rwanda. And so, with all the spare time I
suddenly had while stuck at home this past year, I started painting butterflies,
which to me symbolize hope.
I would be so, so grateful if you would donate any amount toward Lilliane's
fundraiser. Those who donate $50 or more will receive a butterfly hand-
painted by me (and my sister could help write your name in calligraphy on the
canvas if you’d like!) . Please just be sure to specify your mailing address, and any name you'd like painted, in a message to my mom.
The pandemic has been scary for me at times, but one thing I have learned is how much we all need one another when times are tough. Thank you for opening your heart to my little sister in Rwanda.
xo, Presley
