Hi all,

I'm hoping we can come together and raise money for our loving Dad, Husband, Grandpa, and Friend Mercedes Sr (Merce) and his wife Connie. He was diagnosed with Kidney Cancer in 2017 and after a kidney removal; he was back to his normal life. Sadly, in 2020 he was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer and a brain tumor. After extensive testing's (PET scan) and surgery to remove the brain tumor - doctors gave Connie the sad news that Mercedes was fighting Stage 4 Metastatic Distant Renal Cell Carcinoma. After being told the lung cancer was non-curable but, that they would treat him to slow the progression he decided to BRAVELY fight the fight! He's courageously fought this fight for 3 years, as in 2020 he was given a 75% chance of having 2 more years and only a 12% chance of having 5+ more years.

Recently, his health has declined rapidly. He's now at-home living comfortably until he's ready to go to the Lord. As of now - Mercedes has stopped eating, he just can't do it anymore. He is still drinking but minimally. Breathing is hard and painful; but he is refusing oxygen at this time. He sleeps more than not. He's very nauseous so they are trying to get that under control. His pain is mild right now but increasing quickly.

We, as a family, are asking for assistance from all the generous people who will see this to allow Connie to stay home with him. This will help relieve the burden and stresses of daily living expenses as Connie's last day of work was today 10/11/2023 - in order to properly care for Merce but also enjoy and cherish his final moments.
