My dog Lily Pad (the pup in the picture) is an amazingly sweet girl. She is a Great Pyrenees heeler mix who roughly 11 months ago was diagnosed with idiopathic epilepsy. I was willing at first to take on this challenge because this dog got me through so much with helping my anxiety and all the tears that came from the stress. Even after her seizures and some time she checks on me and attempts to do her tasks to make sure I'm okay even though I can see there is confusion, incoordination and uncertainty in her movements.
Unfortunately I have come to the reality that I cannot afford her care anymore financially, physically and mentally. For Five months now I thought these were my only two options given to me based off of what my vet provided me:
1. I rehome her.
2. Lay her to rest.
I thought I have exhausted most of the options until posting in a Facebook group that some people gave me information that showed me some glimmers of hope that I want to buy time I need in order to get myself straight to help her better. This amount was a guestimate for future meds and visits for a second opinion and care. It may be updated if any special tests need to be done.
