My name is Dezaray and I'm creating this GoFundMe on behalf of my sister, Candice Pilcher. Some of you may know her story, but for those who don't I'd like to share a little bit about her health journey. In 2013 my sister was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. At that time, she opted to tackle her diagnosis conventionally which means she underwent a bi-lateral mastectomy, 20 weeks of chemotherapy, 5.5 weeks of radiation, and reconstructive surgery. Throughout that year she fought physical, mental, emotional, financial and spiritual battles all while raising her daughter as a single Mother. 2013 proved to be the most difficult fight for her life, but by the grace of God she defied the odds. Miraculously, 8 years passed and Candice continued to receive good reports from her Oncology team which led her to believe the conventional protocol was a success. Fast forward to February 2021, Candice was scheduled for a PET scan due to elevated tumor markers. The outcome of that scan revealed an unimaginable diagnosis of stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. Once again, Candice was faced with making incredibly difficult decisions regarding her health and future. With much prayer, wise counsel, research and family support she decided to seek treatment at Oasis of Hope in Tijuana, México. Her goal was to take an alternative approach to healing while also incorporating conventional treatments here in the states. That's what Candice has been doing for the last 5 years. Up until now, she has had great success traveling to Mexico, every year, for treatments. Her body has responded well to their protocols, but now she has reached a turning point due to recent tumor marker changes and PET scan results. The treatments administered in México, along with many alternative therapies in the states, are not covered by insurance. Yet it has become clear, Candice needs additional support and immediate treatment opportunities to ensure her health journey is a success. We are praying these treatments and next steps will begin early next month.

For the last 5 years, Candice's family has financially funded and supported treatment plans, supplements, medications, flights, home therapies, etc. which has been a tremendous blessing, but also a heavy load to carry alone. That is the reason I am humbly reaching out to you, our friends.

With that said, it would be a massive blessing if you or someone you know can financially help my Sister reach her immediate healthcare needs. Truly, God has provided and met every need up to this point. Yet, we now find ourselves asking for external help and support from our friends and community.
