Help Me Prove Her Wrong.
When I was 5, I performed in a school nativity and was surprisingly praised highly by my teachers. My mothers response to this was "on stage? He's only fit for sweeping it."
I'm surprised that 18 years on, I still remember her words, but in my little 5 year old determination, I wanted to prove her wrong.
A little back story, my mother left when I was 12, leaving me and my younger sister with my dad. She moved opposite with another man and made our lives hell for several years. Attempting to break into our house, vandalising our car on Christmas Eve e.t.c you get the idea.
Shortly after they were evicted and a few years down the line, she contacted me and the smallest part of me that would've forgiven her closed off when she hadn't changed.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not acting in spite of her, but her scepticism drove and pushed me harder to progress and excell in what i truely love.
I've been lucky enough to be involved in many plays and low budget films, including but not limited to;
P.O.V - Feature film - Yates
Fawlty Towers - Play - Manuel
The Cherry Orchard - Play - Trofimov
Macbeth - Play - Banquo
Our House - Musical - Joe Casey
These Nights - Short Film - Lead Role (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nzGH6_v8jCg)
Evita - Musical - Agustine Magaldi
A Night at the Pavilion : Charlie Chaplin - Play - Charlie Chaplin
Now I've been invited to be part of a professional training course in Guildford called "the forge initiative". This course teaches you how to survive in the world of acting and perfecting your art, also securing you a place at the Edinburgh fringe festival. This is a dream come true to perform there, let alone be accepted into the course!
The course is expensive, hence why I've set up a crowd funding appeal, but I genuinely believe it's the next step for me to continue.
Thanks for taking the time to read this,
