Whether it's the explosion of residential development in Ascot’s borough or the recent listing for sale of the former Hell’s Angels land in Lennoxville, the Boisé Ascot-Lennox is constantly threatened to disappear.
The Boisé Ascot-Lennox is the last natural gem located in the heart of the city of Sherbrooke. It represents not only a forest whose ecological value is very high, but also a place where access to nature goes hand in hand with social justice.

Why did you choose the goal of $500,000 for the crowdfunding campaign? Do you think you can buy land with this amount?
We aim to raise $500,000 as a basis to be ready for the sale of future strategic land for our protection objective. The crowdfunding campaign is one way among others that we undertake to achieve this objective, as are our grant applications, for example. Land sales can go very quickly. That's why we wanted the fundraising process to be started already.
If the land purchase does not materialize, what are you going to do with the money?
The Boisé Ascot-Lennox is made up of a few hundred private lots (about 900), so we are confident that we will have a strategic acquisition opportunity!
Is my donation eligible for a tax credit?
We are now registered as a non-profit organization (NPO). Unfortunately, the tax credit applies to federally registered charities, which is not our case. We apologize for the inconveniences relating to tax credits. We are currently working hard to provide an option that could accommodate large donations.
How long do you expect it will take to raise the amount?
We aim to raise the amount as soon as possible to be ready for the next strategic land available on the market, which can be sold very quickly.
Why didn't you consider the launch of the fundraiser earlier, in particular for the purchase of the land of the Hells?
That was our goal! We were in the process of creating our NPO and the sale was made at the same time.
