Mi nombre es Magalie Rodrigue y hoy les pido su ayuda mientras continúo luchando por reconstruir mi vida.

Hace un año y medio, regresé del trabajo con un fuerte dolor en los riñones. Después de buscar atención médica, me informaron que necesitaba una cirugía. Tras la operación, entré en coma durante ocho días.

Cuando desperté, mi vida había cambiado por completo. Mis brazos y piernas se habían vuelto negros, secos y necróticos, y los médicos me informaron que era necesario amputar mis extremidades.

Desde entonces, he estado en un centro de rehabilitación, aprendiendo a adaptarme a una realidad completamente diferente. Dependo de otras personas para realizar tareas básicas como comer, bañarme y atender mis necesidades diarias. Actividades que antes hacía por mi cuenta ahora requieren ayuda constante.

Mi mayor deseo es seguir adelante y recuperar la mayor independencia posible. Lamentablemente, mi seguro no cubre las prótesis que necesito. Tener acceso a ellas me permitiría hacer mucho más por mí misma y acercarme a una vida más independiente.

Cualquier donación, sin importar la cantidad, me ayudará a dar un paso más hacia esa meta. Si no puede donar, compartir mi historia también significaría mucho para mí.

My name is Magalie Rodrigue, and I am asking for your help as I work toward rebuilding my life.

A year and a half ago, I came home from work with severe pain in my kidneys. After seeking medical care, I was told I needed surgery. Following the surgery, I went into a coma for eight days.

When I woke up, my life had changed forever. My arms and legs had become black, dry, and necrotic, and I was told that all of my limbs would need to be amputated.

Since then, I have been living in a rehabilitation center and learning how to adapt to a completely different way of life. Every day, I depend on others to help me with basic tasks such as eating, bathing, and caring for myself. Things that many people do without thinking are things I cannot do on my own.

I want the chance to move forward and regain as much independence as possible. Unfortunately, my insurance does not cover the prosthetic limbs I need. These prosthetics would give me the opportunity to do more for myself and work toward living a more independent life.

Any donation, no matter the amount, will help me get closer to that goal. If you are unable to donate, sharing my story would mean just as much.
