Protective Equipment for NY Healthcare Workers

Healthcare workers across the nation are on the front lines fighting for the lives of people stricken by Covid-19.  They do this at great risk to themselves and their families despite shortages of the critical equipment they need to protect themselves. NY Governor Cuomo and hospital administrators have been working very hard to get equipment to NY healthcare workers, and they believe they have enough for the next couple of weeks. The shortage, however, means that workers are required to use this equipment for far longer than what has been deemed safe in the past. Supplies are being rationed and in some cases, a mask that would be discarded after one patient is now being worn for days, with workers being told to bring it home and wear it again and again for several days or more. 

Both of our husbands are physicians on the front lines. We hear the horrifying stories every day and we feel compelled to help them and their colleagues in every way we can. We hear what they need and we're trying to help.

We are asking you to contribute to a fund that will entirely go towards purchasing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for healthcare workers, whether it's masks, face shields, goggles, gowns, gloves or whatever they need and we can get our hands on. 

We have experience negotiating bulk purchases and a number of manufacturers overseas with equipment ready to ship. We'd like to move ahead aggressively to bring it to NY.
