Protective Equipment for Medical Personnel COVID19

Hi everyone! My parents both work in hospitals as doctors during this COVID-19 pandemic. During this time, protection for physicians and healthcare workers should be the biggest priority...but it’s not. Look at the news, talk to people you know working in hospitals—there is a HUGE shortage of protective gear. We’re trying to help 3-D print and create plastic shields for the face and to purchase N-95 masks for the people who need it most!!! With this amount of money we can make 2,000 shields and buy 2,000 masks to distribute. Hospitals are not willing to spend excess money to protect their own employees so let’s take matters into our own hands. HELP US HELP THE PEOPLE WHO HELP YOU!!! :) Update!! Your support and contributions have enabled us to support the development of PAPR disposable masks. PAPR is a more sophisticated protective equipment that filters contaminated air and delivers clean air in a personal purifying air system. What this means is that during the intubation of COVID-19 patients (a very close-up procedure), physicians can be safe and feel safe from infection. This device is also reusable and can be sanitized an infinite number of time without a decrease in performance. This is a sustainable, long term solution for health worker safety. We also have purchased high quality polycarbonate sheets for almost 700 reusable face shields and have distributed hundreds to local LA hospitals. These new developments are far more successful in protecting our medical personnel all over the United States; however these improvements come with an increasing demand for funding. Our goal is to be able to provide face shields and to produce more of these game-changing PAPR devices which will be a huge leap in the right direction to help our incredible health workers.
