For over a century, the Jamaica Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (JSPCA) has stood as a beacon of hope for these animals. Our organization is tirelessly working to rescue, heal, and protect Jamaica’s animals—but we cannot do it alone.
The JSPCA’s work goes far beyond sheltering abandoned pets. Every day, they respond to emergency calls, rescuing animals from horrific conditions—chained in backyards without food or water, struck by vehicles and left for dead, or abused in ways too painful to describe. Their veterinary team, often stretched thin, works tirelessly to treat injuries, nurse animals back to health, and give them a second chance at life. For many animals, the JSPCA is the only line between life and death, between cruelty and compassion.
Why We're Asking for Your Support
The JSPCA is currently facing the challenge of being removed from our home and we urgently need your support to find and secure a new one. The JSPCA must vacate its home of more than thirty years at 10 Winchester Road, Kingston, within the next two months. The National Health Fund (NHF) has acquired both our property and the adjacent lot, and construction has already begun next door.
We have secured a lease at 193 Old Hope Road—currently undeveloped land—where we plan to build a permanent facility and establish temporary housing to ensure uninterrupted care for the animals who depend on us.
This transition is critical. Rising operational costs, limited resources, and growing demand make your support more vital than ever.
Every contribution, whether financial, material, or in-kind, makes a tangible difference. More than that, it affirms a shared belief that animals deserve dignity, safety, and kindness.
What We Do:
1. We rescue animals from abuse, abandonment, and neglect.
2. We provide critical medical care, food, shelter, and rehabilitation.
3. We educate the public on responsible pet ownership.
4. We run free and low-cost spay/neuter clinics to stop the cycle of suffering at its root.
5. We turn no one away, regardless of their ability to pay for our services.
But none of this is possible without the generosity of animal lovers like you.
Spaying and neutering is not just an act of kindness—it is an act of responsibility. It is one of the most powerful tools we have to create a more humane society. But despite the clear benefits; myths, misconceptions, and lack of access continue to limit participation.
The reality is stark: our organization cannot continue their life-saving work without your support. We rely on donations, volunteers, and compassionate individuals like you who believe that all life deserves dignity, safety, and love.
