Help me Protect my son
My name is Jordan. I am a single mother living and working in Crystal Beach, Texas, where I clean homes to support myself and my young son. Asking for help does not come easily to me, but right now I am facing something bigger than pride or fear — my child’s safety and healing.
My six-year-old son has recently made serious disclosures of sexual abuse that are now being handled through therapists, medical professionals, and investigative agencies. Because this is an active case involving a minor child, I cannot publicly share names or identifying details. My responsibility is to protect his privacy while allowing the legal process to do its work.
For years, I believed my child was safe and surrounded by love while I worked hard to rebuild my life.
Following struggles with addiction, an initial custody order was entered in August 2021 while I focused on recovery. I committed myself completely to becoming the mother my son deserved. I complied with everything asked of me — including multiple drug screenings and several hair and nail follicle tests entirely at my own expense. These were not ordered by the court at all, but were requested by the paternal grandparents involved in our custody arrangement. I agreed because I wanted to prove my sobriety, stability, and dedication as a parent.
In July 2024, I hired an attorney to address custody matters formally, and in November 2024 the court order was modified to shared custody. There were no drug screenings ordered by the court at that hearing, and I was acknowledged for the progress and stability I had worked hard to achieve.
Today, I share custody under that order with individuals connected to the allegations now under investigation — people who have significantly greater financial resources and legal support than I do. Without immediate legal guidance, I risk being held in contempt of court simply for trying to protect my child while investigations are ongoing.
Since my son’s disclosures, our lives have changed overnight.
We have attended forensic interviews, therapy appointments, and medical evaluations. Trauma memories are being processed through therapy, and my once happy kindergarten boy has become angry, withdrawn, and deeply sad. Watching your child struggle with pain you never knew existed is heartbreaking beyond words.
Our first trauma therapy appointment took place February 4 in Friendswood, Texas. The provider specializes in helping children heal but does not accept my son’s current Medicaid plan through Molina. I am in the process of changing his insurance to Texas Children’s Health Plan so he can continue treatment, but in the meantime I am paying out of pocket so his care does not stop during this critical time.
Between attorney consultations, court filings, travel for required appointments, therapy expenses, and missed work to support my son emotionally, the financial pressure has become overwhelming.
Funds raised will go toward:
• Attorney fees for custody modification and emergency legal protection
• Trauma therapy and counseling for my son
• Medical examinations and follow-up care
• Travel expenses for mandated forensic and medical appointments
• Lost wages while supporting my child through healing
I am not looking for conflict or sympathy. I am a mother who will take this as far as I need to in order to protect my child. Right now, I am his only voice — and it will be heard.

Thank you for taking the time to read our story. Even stopping for a moment to listen means more than I can put into words right now.

If you are unable to donate, I completely understand. Please just send a prayer or good vibes our way. My baby boy and I need strength, peace, and protection more than anything during this season.

Every kind thought, every prayer, and every bit of support helps remind us that we are not walking through this alone
