Protect Our Frontline Heroes: PPE Metro Detroit

Metro Detroiters - Let's protect our frontline heroes together. We're the ones they're fighting to save.
Our goal? Deliver PPE to who needs it as fast as possible.
We're a volunteer-led, community-made supply chain making daily deliveries of PPE to 140 facilities SE Michigan. This includes area hospitals, first responders, nursing homes, assisted living communities, rehabilitation clinics, group homes, funeral care professionals, child care centers, and community orgs working with our most vulnerable.
Here's one example - we're currently rushing to figure out how to deliver PPE to two separate networks of 30+ senior care facilities. Cigna Healthcare and American House. 2 requests. 60 facilities. The need is bigger and wider than we on the outside could ever imagine.
We're working with a coordinated network of truly selfless partners to streamline work and reach our mutual goal. They include: Angels Wear Gowns, 30KShields, GREW Detroit, Taj Cottage, and MI Face Mask Warriors. What does this partnership entail? Let's just say this PPE shortage is a maze and one group holds the flashlight while the other one builds it. One group finds the shortcut while other one funds the tools. And all of you - our volunteers and donors have amazed us.
Here's what donations have already purchased:
$2,998.92 - Sterlization fabric for 18,000 masks
$476 - Mask filter material
$710 - 300 yards 100% cotton muslin for 300 scrub caps + 600 masks
$200 - sewing supplies for scrub cap team: $200
$1700 - Hand sanitizer from Ugly Dog Distillery, Chelsea,MI
TOTAL: $6,084.92
Here's our unfilled PPE needs: 900 scrub caps, hand sanitizer, gloves

Our VOLUNTEER NEEDS:
- volunteers to pickup and deliver PPE supplies across SE Michigan (1-3 hours round trip)
- semi-experienced sewers
- volunteers to make no-sew gowns
