Protect Eisner Cove Wetland
Donation protected
Eisner Cove Wetland is one of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia's last wetlands, and it is threatened because of a housing development. The wetland and its protective forest bell total about 44.75 hectares (110 acres) or 83 football fields. The developer has already started removing trees, in preparation of removing more. They plan on dumping over 2 hectares of large rocks and gravel into the watercourse to build a causeway, a road. They claim road salt, exhaust and leaking vehicles fluids will not adversely affect the wetland. Experts say it will.
We have signs, leaflets, advertising, and need to seek legal advice for our small Society in Nova Scotia. Any help you can give would help.
