Protect Zoa from Losing Her Housing
Hey loves, it’s me, Zoa. I am in a scary situation as a trans person where I could lose my housing if I don’t raise funds for this next month's rent and bills. I’ve been working and performing all year, but a lot of my work is contracted and gigs.
I live alone in an apartment and I pay all my bills myself.
All of my funds were exhausted and honestly, with my capacity for hardships right now, I feel like just giving up.
I will be at risk of losing my apartment.
Zoa’s monthly bills are $2000 a month and I have no income consistently coming in anymore.
Every donation will go to keeping Zoa housed with a roof over her head.
Right now, I am building resources for the trans and nonbinary community and also putting myself out there for consulting and peer support. I am hoping to build steady income and be able to keep working in spaces that embrace me.
I’m looking for part-time jobs and remote work-from-home jobs that are flexible.
I’ve applied to so many theatre and teaching positions and it feels like some have turned me away because of my transness, even ones that I previously taught at for years consistently.
I am grateful for the many organizations and theatre companies that have hired me for shows, gigs, and performances.
It is no longer sustainable and in reality, my funds have been going down this whole year and I’m at the end.
I had to leave my last job because of my disability and performing has helped me feel a little more OK in this world.
I am not able to work any job and with my transness, even the ones that I can work are even more out of reach.
I’ve been applying for jobs, and I’ve had a lot of barriers because of my transness with getting something. Even while applying for server jobs, I’ve been told I’d have to change things about me that I can’t change.
Some good news is that I have some scattered work coming soon. Just don't know how much I'll actually make or if it will be frequent enough. May have more news to announce soon. those will help a little bit, but they still won’t cover even most of my expenses consistently, I fear.
