Save the Saola – Help Us Protect One of the Rarest Animals on Earth

The saola is one of the world’s most endangered mammals, with fewer than 100 individuals estimated to remain in the wild. Sometimes called the Asian Unicorn because of its rarity and graceful appearance, the saola is critically endangered—on the brink of extinction.

This GoFundMe campaign is led by the students of Cyprus Classical Academy, an independent private school that nurtures leadership, compassion, and a lifelong love of learning. As part of our school’s commitment to global citizenship and environmental stewardship, we have chosen the saola as our conservation focus for this year.

All donations will go directly to The Saola Foundation, a small but highly experienced group of field conservationists working within the saola’s native habitat in the Annamite Mountains of Laos and Vietnam. Their mission is to find and protect the last remaining saola, build national conservation capacity, and eventually establish a breeding center to ensure the species’ survival.
