Hi, my name's Nathan.

I'm a tattoo artist and creator behind something called The Cover Up Project — a nationwide mission to offer free, transformative tattoos that cover the physical reminders of trauma. That includes scars from self-harm, addiction, domestic violence, cancer treatments, and even branding from human trafficking and exploitation. Every story is documented (with full consent) and treated with care, dignity, and art that helps people reclaim their bodies.

I'm launching the full journey this August, and while the crowdfunding for travel, filming, and equipment is happening through Kickstarter, this GoFundMe is to help get the foundation built legally and securely.

These funds will go toward:

• Registering the LLC for the project

• Filing 501(c)(3) nonprofit status

• Trademark protection for The Cover Up Project

• Copyright registration for original art, writing, and media

• Basic legal consultations to protect the people I serve

This is the unglamorous but crucial part of doing it right. I'm not asking for money to fund the tattoo work — this is just to cover the costs of doing things the right way, to protect the mission and the people it helps.
