Keep Sespe Wild is a non-profit wilderness group based on the watershed of Sespe Creek, Ventura County, California.
The U.S. Forest Service has plans to log hundreds of old-growth conifers trees at the 6,500-feet elevation of the Pine Mountain ridgeline north of Ojai, in Los Padres National Forest.
Local environmental organizations challenged this logging project in federal court - but the judge gave the logging proposal the green light in July 2023..
Project opponents are now appealing that court decision to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Keep Sespe Wild is raising $6,000 towards the appeal costs. The non-profit Environmental Defense Center in Santa Barbara are the attorneys for local opposition to the logging proposal.
Please donate generously to protect 423 acres of old-growth conifers from being thinned out under the proposed plan.
