The goal of the Noble Odyssey Foundation is to foster an appreciation and love of our local fresh water. We aim to inspire today's youth to better understand the need to care for our fresh water, today and in the long term. Michigan has the highest abundance of fresh water in the world and we need to protect it!
The Noble Odyssey encourages youth to get involved in local research projects, such as ecological impacts, lake shore levels, as well as mysteries hidden under the surface like drowned forests. By partnering with universities, high schools, and various agencies such as NOAA, the Noble Odyssey is able to bring kids into the studies with hands on experience. With over 50 years of projects, the Noble Odyssey has helped change the way scientists, biologists, and historians view the Great Lakes and surrounding waters. We also support and encourage a maritime interest in today's youth through our partnership with the Great Lakes Division of the Navy Sea Cadet Corps.
