Protect Mt Charleston's Wild Horses
Donation protected
In response to the recent tragic killing of our beloved Fletcher by BLM, the residents of Mt Charleston are starting an initiative to hang signs, posters, and banners around the community that educate the public about the dangers and illegality of feeding wild horses. Residents have asked the relevant government agencies (e.g., NDOT, USFS, & BLM) for years to put up these signs, but their requests have been denied or altogether ignored. So, the residents are left with no other choice but to fund the signs out of their own pockets and put them on private property that is publicly visible. Our first large banner (which has been ordered) will be placed off of Kyle Canyon in an area with high visibility. We will print more signs and educational material as we identify additional locations to place them. Funds received from this campaign will be used to purchase not only signs and banners, but also bungee cords, nails, rebar, cement, wood, and other educational materials (e.g., flyers). If enough funds are received, we will put up a billboard as well. In the event that there are funds we don't use on educational material, we will donate them to Hearts Alive, a Las Vegas animal shelter that rescues horses (in addition to cats and dogs).
