We are raising money in order to fight against inappropriate building practices on the beautiful Island of Eleuthera in The Bahamas.
Some new projects being approved on this island are very harmful to the environment and are impacting the natural beauty of the island.
The money will be used for working with Town Planning board members in educating them on the impact of their decisions on the environment. When violations occur, the money will be used for retaining attorneys who will fight on our behalf to challenge building permits that don't comply with standard set-back and environmental protection rules.
We will also lobby for more consideration given to the impact on beaches and the environment during the permitting evaluation process of future projects. We may pursue formal changes to current set-back and environmental impact rules. We are also committed to reducing pollution on our beaches through education, clean up days, and plastic reduction initiatives.
We support 4Oceans and their efforts to eliminate plastic in our oceans!
The beaches on Eleuthera are among the most beautiful in the world. They are also some of the most fragile. Recently, this natural beauty has been under attack by new homeowners, developers, builders, planners, and engineers who have lost focus of their responsibility to protect the natural beauty of this special place.
We must all do our part to protect the environment and Save the Beaches of Eleuthera
