Who Is Deborah Baldwin?

Born in 1953, Deborah is a kind, intelligent, and loving elder who now battles several serious medical conditions, including:

- Mixed Connective Tissue Disease

- Raynaud’s Disease

- Severe Anemia

Due to HIPAA regulations and to avoid impacting the hearing, we can't articulate what's outlined here. The court filing is a public filing for those who wish to look deeper.

Her health rapidly declined between 2021 and 2024. Once managing with basic Medicaid support, she is now:

- Completely bedridden

- Tube-fed daily

- Weighs only 80 lbs

- Unable to make phone calls or advocate for herself

By the end of 2024, her condition had deteriorated so severely that I—her brother, Health Care Proxy, and Durable Power of Attorney—removed her from an unsafe home and placed her into a nursing facility, where she now resides.

Thanks to this step, we’ve halted the downward spiral. But our fight for her recovery, legal justice, and basic rights is far from over.

In my strong opinion, Deborah’s decline was not natural—it was the result of abuse, neglect, and medical manipulation by a primary family caretaker.

What she endured includes:

- Being overmedicated to the point of complete unresponsiveness

- Suffering a mini-stroke in 2024 because of mismanaged care

- Being left alone and helpless for long hours in an unsanitary environment

- Failing to receive proper therapy because of deliberate sedation

- Vital Medicare paperwork never filed, leaving her with thousands in uncovered bills

- Financial exploitation while the caretaker made little to no contributions

Despite hospital observations, affidavits, and detailed reports—including one confirming early signs of dementia—law enforcement and social services have yet to take meaningful action.
