I’m starting this GoFundMe on behalf of my neighbor, Cindy Jackson, a lifelong Fillmore resident who has lived along the Sespe River since 2006. Cindy is a lifelong resident iof Fillmore and is a proud graduate of Fillmore High School. For more than 40 years, she has faithfully volunteered in our community, including over 30 years with the Fillmore Chamber of Commerce, as well as the May Festival and many other local events and organizations.
Cindy has always been someone who gives her time, energy, and heart to others. Now she is in need of help herself. She is a single mom, self-employed, and runs a farm, which makes her time and financial resources extremely limited.
With each recent storm, the creek has continued to erode her property, bringing the water closer to her home and putting her land — and sense of security — at serious risk. What was once a stable creek bank has been steadily washing away due to repeated storms and rising water levels.
The damage is beyond what one person can reasonably manage alone. Through persistence and determination, Cindy has worked through extensive red tape and has begun the long process of creek bank stabilization in an effort to save her home. However, with the rising cost of living and ongoing repairs, the financial burden is overwhelming.
Funds raised will go directly toward erosion mitigation, creek bank stabilization, and professional assistance needed to protect her property from further loss.
This is not about luxury or upgrades — it’s about preserving a home, safety, and peace of mind for someone who has spent decades serving others. Any contribution, no matter the size, will help provide immediate relief and long-term protection. If you’re unable to give, please consider sharing this page so it can reach others who may be able to help.
Thank you for coming alongside a neighbor in need. Your kindness truly makes a difference.
