Protect a Young Boy and His Brave Mom

As many of you are aware the system does not always work in favor of the vulnerable. If you have a heart for children, women, and those that have survived insurmountable odds then this is the go fund me for you.

I am writing this on behalf of a woman and her son who I have had the privilege of crossing paths with. These two have a beautiful bond and are fighting for their safety and their livelihood as I type these words. Please be mindful that names have been purposefully left out to preserve their safety.

After experiencing brutal physical, verbal, and mental abuse, this young child and his mother were evacuated from their home. After multitude of ER visits and much anguish their strength was made evident after a 2-year legal battle ended with full custody granted to mom. Finally able to thrive and find peace, this pair made a life for themselves and obtained some stability away from the abuser/father of the child. A stability that unfortunately would be short lived.

No doubt threatened by their new found peace, the abuser returned to inflict more damage. Now with a court order for Reunification Therapy, the backslide began. The little guy began suffering from suicidal thoughts, and fear of leaving the house out of worry that dad would find him and hurt him again. Mom, now challenged with doing everything in her power to protect her child from further abuse and harm, slowly became riddled with legal bills struggling at times to even find the money for groceries and other basic needs. Mom is working full-time, picking up as much overtime as possible, and doing everything she can to ensure that they stay safe and supported.

This is where you come in. The number of child fatalities due to abuse or neglect has been a persistent issue in Colorado, with numbers hovering around 35 per year in recent years.
